Polyethylene Tanks
Tanks, as all manufactured products made of Polyethylene (PE) obtained by rotational molding technology, have the characteristic of being one piece with no welds, no internal stresses and uniform thickness. They are resistant to atmospheric agents and UV rays as well as aging, making them suitable for outdoor installation. These tanks are suitable for storage of food, drinking water, diesel fuel and all chemicals, including aggressive ones compatible with Polyethylene.
Rotational Molding
Rotational molding is a technological process that begins with pouring Polyethylene powder into a metal preform (mold) that heated to the desired temperature and rotated on its axes until the heated material that has become plastic is evenly distributed over all the walls of the mold taking on the shape, the thickness of the manufactured item is determined by the amount of material that is inserted into the mold. Kept in constant rotation, the mold passes into the cooling chamber where solidification of the part takes place, which once cooled is removed from the mold due to its natural shrinkage.
Rotational molding makes it possible to obtain large items with complicated shapes and finishes, all with much lower investment costs in equipment than those of other technologies. Currently, most production is done with linear and cross-linked Polyethylene, followed by Polypropylene, Polyamide and Polycarbonate.
The peculiarity of this technology lies in the fact that the mold rotates according to two axes: a primary one with a fixed direction and a secondary one with a variable direction. During all phases (excluding loading and unloading) the mold always rotates at contained speed.
