SCRUBBERS FOR EMISSION TREATMENT
Nowdays more and more companies, due to the increased attention on the environmental issues and regulations, are equipped with scrubbers for emission abatement.
This systems are generally equipped with:
- Venturi throat for the suction of the gas
- Packed bed tower in which gases and washing liquids are in contact for the gas depuration, with the possible addition of a demister
- Dilution of the gas at outlet, thanks to a fan blower

We equip the scrubber with fan and pumps for the fluid movement. On request we provide also a control panel including cables and tubings.
Horizontal scrubbers:
Cireco mpa is specialized in the design and construction of fume purification systems called “WET SCRUBBERS”. These systems get their name from the fact that they use water and specific reagents to remove pollutants from gas streams. Usually, the liquid is sprayed at high pressure against the direction of gas flow. The choice between vertical scrubber or horizontal scrubber depends on the specific application and the needs of the installation.
Wet cell scrubbers:
Horizontal gas flow with vertical packing rings bed: they are most diffused in galvanic, texile, electronics and chemical industry. They could be single or double stage, upon the contaminants are mostly acid, alkaline or both (in this case two separated pumps could be used for separated beds). A special version is the closed-circuit one for stripping of gases diluted in waste water and subsequent neutralization in gas phase
Packed/Venturi bed tower scrubbers:
this application allow high gas flowrates and high abatement rates on a small footprint. The gas is introduced in the base tank and flows upwards trough the packed rings, uniformly flooded thanks to the spray nozzles. The Venturi Jet could be also used as pre-cleaning stage and could be either internal, coaxial to the tower or external on the same base tank. In both cases the inlet and outlet of the gases are from the top of the unit with a dynamic mist separator before the fan. Also in this case the instrumentation comprises pH or Redox control, dosing pumps for chemical reagent, while the fan control flowrate and pressure of the gases.
Horizontal scrubbers:
these units are built as two identical sections, with the process pumps feeding concurrently two arrays of Venturi ejectors, each one followed by a dynamic mist separator.
This modularity allow the simultaneous neutralization of gases either acid and alkaline, like for house scrubbers in elettronics fabs or the two stages deodorization in food and stock-farming.
The installed instrumentation, depending on final application, comprises 1 or 2 pH or Redox along with chemical reagents dosing pumps; the gas flowrate and pressure in the suction areas are controlled in real time by varying the fan speed.
